Insta360

Companion app for Insta360 cameras

Insta360 is a mobile camera companion and video editor for people who use Insta360 cameras or handheld gimbals. It helps you review footage, adjust the view in 360-degree clips, create edited videos, and prepare content for sharing. The app is listed in Video Players & Editors and is developed by Insta360.

Editing tools for 360 footage

The app lets you reframe 360-degree video by adding keyframes and changing the viewing direction throughout a clip. Deep Track can follow a selected person, animal, or moving object to help keep the subject centered. You can also create stabilized hyperlapses, change playback speed, and make edits without first saving every clip to your phone.

Automatic edits and templates

AI editing features can assist with reframing and identifying subjects, making it easier to turn action footage into a finished clip. Shot Lab provides template-based effects and editing ideas, including options such as Sky Swap, AI Warp, Clone Trail, and Nose Mode. These tools are aimed at users who want quick results, while the manual controls provide more input over the final video.

What users should know

Insta360 has recorded more than 1,000,000 installs and a rating of 3.52 out of 5 from about 39,894 reviews. Its main value is tied to Insta360 hardware, so it is most useful for camera owners rather than people looking for a general-purpose video editor. The app also includes a creator area where users can browse videos, tutorials, and ideas from other Insta360 users.
